Outstanding Faculty Research Publication Award
Funded by the Nursing Alumni Association to recognize exceptional publications.
- Purpose: to promote the School of Nursing's established goal of increasing the number of faculty publications in top-tier journals
- Amount: $250 funded with proceeds from the Nursing Annual Fund
- Eligibility: awards are made to faculty members employed by University of Virginia School of Nursing; the faculty member must be first author of the publication, and only those publications in print the prior year will be eligible for the upcoming award (for example, to be eligible for the 2020 award, article must be in print in 2019)
Submission process & guidelines
- Application: faculty are invited to submit one peer-reviewed, data-based research publication for consideration. Criteria for evaluation of each publication include scientific rigor of the research study, clarity of interpretation of findings, applicability of findings to nursing practice and quality of peer-reviewed journal
- Deadline: February 15 of each year
- Submission: Submit a copy of the publication with a cover memo requesting review for this award to Jeanne Alhusen in the Office for Nursing Research. Manuscripts will be reviewed for the selction of this award by emerita faculty.
