HOOS Health App

HOOS Health Check - a required daily personal health assessment phone app for UVA students, faculty, and staff planning to come to Grounds for learning activities or for work - is available in the Apple app store or Android Google Play Store.

Users are presented with a checklist of symptoms - cough, shortness of breath, fever - and asked whether they are experiencing them. Those who are symptom-free may proceed with their plans to come to Grounds; those experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms cannot come to work or class and must contact Student Health or Employee Health to report their symptoms.

HOOS Health Check is separate from COVIDWISE, a new contact tracing app from the Virginia Department of Health that notifies users if they have come into close contact with somebody who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Those not intending to visit Grounds on a particular day do not need to complete the HOOS Health Check.
