Now that you're here at the School of Nursing, you understand why it's such an exceptional place. We strive to cultivate compassionate caregivers, create and nurture collaborations, and celebrate our very best asset: you, our students.

Located in the Student Life Center on the first floor of the Claude Moore Nursing Education building, the Office of Admission & Student Services provides students with the resources and support for academic and professional success. We work closely with faculty and staff in the School and University to foster student achievement, research, programming, and encourage your enthusiasm and involvement.

COVID-related information and University resources for nursing students, faculty and staff

HOOS Health App

HOOS Health Check - a required daily personal health assessment phone app for UVA SON students, faculty, and staff planning to come to Grounds for learning activities or for work - is available in the Apple app store or Android Google Play Store.

Users are presented with a checklist of symptoms and asked whether they are experiencing them. Those who are symptom-free may proceed with their plans to come to Grounds; those experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms cannot come to work or class and must contact Student Health or Employee Health to report their symptoms.

Those not intending to visit Grounds on a particular day do not need to complete the HOOS Health Check.

HOOS Health Check

HOOS Health Check is separate from COVIDWISE. COVIDWISE is Virginia’s official exposure notifications app from the Virginia Department of Health that lets you know if you’ve likely been exposed to another COVIDWISE user with a positive COVID-19 test result.

The School of Nursing provides a wide range of technology support and assistance. For specific questions, please contact the help desk. For any issues after normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm), please leave a voicemail, or email.
